Ernie Rush, Director of Industrial Cleaning

Meet Ernie Rush

Introducing Ernie Rush, Director of Industrial Cleaning Services

“Excellence…is not an act but a habit.” – American historian/philosopher Will Durant

With a reputation built on hard work, accountability, and unwavering commitment to excellence, Ernie Rush serves as Director of Industrial Cleaning Services for Octane Environmental. Throughout his career, Ernie has established himself as a respected leader known for delivering results safely, efficiently, and on schedule.

For Ernie, the most rewarding part of the job is simple: completing the work and exceeding client expectations. His philosophy is that every project, regardless of size or complexity, deserves the same level of dedication and professionalism. Under his leadership, industrial sites that begin as challenging, heavily impacted locations are transformed into clean, organized, environmentally compliant facilities that clients can be proud of.

Ernie oversees highly trained crews specializing in industrial cleaning, environmental remediation, tank cleaning, vacuum truck services, site restoration, and equipment decontamination. His teams follow proven procedures and detailed project plans to ensure every job is completed safely, efficiently, and within the client’s required timeline.

A strong believer in accountability, Ernie views every project as a reflection of both his personal reputation and Octane’s commitment to excellence. “When our name is on a job, we take ownership of the outcome. We don’t just complete the work—we make sure it’s done right.”

That dedication has earned the trust of numerous repeat clients throughout the oil and gas industry. Whether cleaning a production site, restoring a well pad, maintaining equipment, or supporting emergency response operations, Ernie ensures every customer receives the highest level of service.

Raised in a small town in Ohio, Ernie developed the work ethic and discipline that continue to define his leadership today. Growing up in a household where responsibility, integrity, and accountability were daily expectations, he learned early that success comes from consistent effort and attention to detail.

Mari Jones, Financial Controller

Meet Mari Jones

Introducing Mari Jones, Financial Controller

Seven dogs, acres of property with kennels to maintain, travel 20-25 weekends a year (to dog shows), and a full-time day job supporting the finance function of Octane. Oh yes, and a family who are “all in” with raising, training, boarding, breeding and caring for dogs and horses! With a little singing and soccer on the side. This is Octane controller Mari Jones’ life, and she loves it.

“My passions are accounting and showing and breeding dogs!” was Mari’s answer when asked. She laughingly added: “I work so that I can afford to show my dogs.”

While her love for numbers and accounting grew during school and early employment experiences, Mari said her mom was preparing her from her time in utero to love dogs. “My mom was showing dogs when she was carrying me, and I grew up loving and caring for them.”

Her mother Ann has been breeding dogs for nearly 65 years, so her passion also runs deep. The family’s kennel name is Bujo Kennels, which is a combination of a beloved bulldog and the first letters of Mari’s surname.

It’s a hobby that requires dedication and time, too. With her mother and “adopted sister” (dear friend) Erica, Mari can travel up to 25 weekends a year in either a 42-foot RV or a smaller van, depending on how near to home the dog shows take place. She grew up north of Houston in Conroe, Texas, where there is an active kennel club that hosts several dog shows each year. “There is a big dog show community in Houston,” Mari said. A lot of work goes into the care of the beautiful, well-behaved animals we see on televised dog shows.

Day-to-day, Mari is directly responsible for the health, exercise and medical care for four Doberman Pinschers, one Standard Schnauzer, and two Beagles. With her mom’s five dogs (two labrador retrievers, two beagles and one Pumi (a Hungarian herding dog)), their award-winning Bentley the Basset Hound (who travels full time with his professional handler), and Erica’s five Basset Hounds, one Doberman and one beagle, their close trio of dog handlers lovingly feeds, cleans, exercises and cares for 20 dogs! And that does not count the horses her mom boards at her neighboring property.

“All of our dogs, except the new puppies, are Champions or Grand Champions,” Mari said proudly. “Bentley is an American Kennel Club Platinum Grand Champion Basset Hound who has been the nation’s number-one basset hound the last three years.”

Octane in the Community

At Octane Environmental, we recognize the importance of using the resources we have to give back to our community. Our team worked together to help bear the burden for families enduring critical illnesses. Here is just one example of how we give back to our community.

Antero Resources - 8th Annual Fuel the Burn Charity Dodgeball Tournament

June 12, 2026

Octane Environmental was proud to support Antero Resources and The Antero Foundation at the 8th Annual Fuel the Burn Charity Dodgeball Tournament on June 12, 2026, at Hite Field in Clarksburg, West Virginia.

This incredible event brought together 86 dodgeball teams, 45 vendor booths, and more than 1,000 participants, all united by a common goal—raising funds for child outreach programs across West Virginia. Thanks to the continued generosity of sponsors, participants, and volunteers, the tournament continues to make a lasting impact on children and families throughout the state.

Octane Environmental was honored to serve food and refreshments at our vendor booth while also contributing $5,000 to sponsor our two Octane dodgeball teams. It was a fantastic opportunity to connect with clients, partners, and fellow industry professionals while supporting a cause that truly makes a difference.

We applaud Antero Resources and the Antero Foundation for hosting another outstanding event and for their ongoing commitment to investing in the communities they serve. We are grateful to have played a small part in a day filled with friendly competition, teamwork, and generosity.

Arsenal Resources - Tee-It-Up Charity

June 1, 2026

Octane Environmental was proud to participate in Arsenal Resources' outstanding "Tee-it-Up" Charity Golf Event at the beautiful Pete Dye Golf Club in Bridgeport, West Virginia.

The event successfully brought together industry partners to support multiple charitable foundations through a charity golf tournament and online auction, making a meaningful impact in the communities they serve.

Our team was honored to sponsor Lunch at Hole 16 and provide prizes for golfers throughout the day. It was a great opportunity to support an important cause, strengthen relationships with clients and partners, and enjoy time with friends from across the oil and gas industry.

A sincere thank you to Arsenal Resources for hosting such a well-organized event and for their continued commitment to giving back. We're grateful to have been part of a day that combined great golf, great company, and an even greater purpose.

Expand Energy - Earth Day 2026 Celebration

Expand Energy - Earth Day 2026 Celebration

Earth Day - April 22, 2026

Octane Environmental was proud to join Expand Energy for their Earth Day 2026 Celebration at Wheeling Creek!

The day was centered on conservation, community, and giving back. Expand Energy stocked Wheeling Creek with trout, giving children the opportunity to enjoy a fun day of fishing, while also providing lunch for employees, vendors, and guests.

Octane Environmental was honored to partner in supporting the WVU Children's Hospital Comfort Fund through a kayak raffle, helping raise funds for an incredible cause that benefits children and their families across West Virginia.

When a child is hospitalized, families are suddenly faced with unexpected expenses and challenges they never planned for. The Comfort Fund helps ease those burdens by providing practical support such as meal vouchers, gas cards, hotel accommodations, and other essential resources through  the Hostetler Family Resource Center. These  may seem like small gestures, but they make a meaningful difference, allowing families to stay close to their child and focus on what matters  most: their child's care and recovery.

It was a beautiful day filled with sunshine, smiling faces, outdoor fun, and meaningful connections. We appreciate Expand Energy's commitment to environmental stewardship, community engagement, and making a positive impact beyond the workplace.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this event such a success. We're grateful to have been part of a day that celebrated both our natural resources and the spirit of giving.

WVU Medicine Golisano Children's Comfort Fund

April 2026

Wednesday, April 22, 2026, was more than a good day. It was a reminder of who we are and what we're capable of when we come together for a good cause.

Because of Octane's team and the relationships we’ve built, we raised  $5,000 for the WVU Medicine Children’s Comfort Fund and placed it directly into the hands of Erin Blake, the hospital's Director of Community and Donor Relations. Those funds will help families stay close to their loved ones as they fight battles most of us can’t imagine.

That alone matters.

But what happened next… that’s something we will carry with us for a long time.

We gave Steven/Expand Energy a custom Fife On The Fly rod and  top-of-the-line fishing equipment to pass along to his son, Ethan, who was going through chemotherapy treatment that day.

As we were leaving the hospital, while standing in the parking lot, Marshall Fife -- Octane's Director of Sales and Marketing, and an avid fly fisherman whose non profit organization gives children and families facing tough medical battles guided fishing trips and charters -- received a phone call. It was Ethan, saying, "Mr. Fife, Mr. Fife, look up and look right."

We looked up—and there he was, standing in his hospital window, jumping up and down with a smile so  big you could feel it from where we stood. Pure excitement. Pure joy. In a moment when he had every reason not to feel that way.

He couldn’t believe that fly rod… that gear… was his.

That moment wasn’t just his.

It was ours.

That’s what this team creates. Not just business. Not just results. Real impact. Real moments of connection, healing, laughter and perspective. Something bigger than all of us.

We don’t always get to see the difference we make—but Wednesday, we did. When you join the Octane team, you become part of a family that serves our community.

Fundraising event benefiting WVU Medicine Children's Hospital with community and sponsor support.

Octane Environmental has partnered with Fife On The Fly to give back to Children’s Hospital by raising money for the Comfort Fund, supporting children and families facing serious health challenges.

We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.
